Surprises.

Wow, sorry. I didn't mean to go almost a whole week without a post. It's just been a bit harder to take photos in the morning because it's still too dark when I leave the house for work (yes, I leave *that* early). But, as you can see I did finally get a haircut. It's about an inch shorter than I was expecting, but I did tell my stylist that I wanted it cut to shoulder-length and that's what he gave me so I guess I can't be mad. :P

Sweater: J.Crew Tippi Sweater (XXS, Vibrant Flame).
Denim: Paige Premium Denim Peg Skinny (Merlot, size 25)(seen recently at TJ Maxx).
Shoes: LAUREN by Ralph Lauren Amelie Pumps (Black, size 6).
Jacket: Club Monaco Emma Trench (Navy, size XS).
Handbag: Zara Basic Suede Shopper (Black).
Bracelets: Material Girl (Gold)(similar), Forever21 Spike Bracelet (Gold)(similar),
Urban Outfitters Double Skull Bangle (Gold), Forever 21 Spiked and Rhinestoned Bracelet (Gold).

I'm a bit surprised by the versatility of this burgundy color. So much so that I've been wearing these jeans non-stop. I initially thought that it would only go great with other deep jewel tones and neutral colors, but one night I haphazardly threw this orange sweater on top of these jeans while changing out of my day clothes and was a taken aback by how well the burgundy went with brights as well. The contrast is unusual and unexpected, but still works. It suddenly opened my eyes to new color combinations for future outfits. Unfortunately, now I'm feeling extra sad about the burgundy-colored J.Crew Icon Trench I returned. =(

How do you discover new color combinations?

Hi! Can you write a review on your Club Monaco Emma Trench Coat? It looks ├╝ber cool and sharp on you. Any alternation necessary or fit perfect off the rack. Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks, Phoebe! I was surprised that such a bright orange would go well with the burgundy, but it does.

Ah, I agree. The navy ties the whole thing down.

I love it too!

Surprisingly, I like to look at flowers especially orchids, food for new color combinations, and scenery.I often find myself taking lots and lots of pictures of food as well as flowers and they actually inspire outfits. I like the orange and red pairing with the pop of cobalt blue. They work so well together.

Could you do a little feature about your tote? I'm considering getting the tan one but Zara's website is so horrible with descriptions/photo angles!! It looks really nice and versatile on you though, but I'd love to know more about it before I make a purchase!
